The house looked so cute from the outside...

Jenna, Katie, and I went to two house viewings today. The first one is on the same street that our guy friends live on and we're really set on getting it. The only thing is that the lease starts in March, except we got the landlord to back to April, and it's a four or five person house and there are only three of us.

I mentioned that the guys live in a house on the same street, so we were already expecting this house to have a similar layout to theirs. The layout of the main floor was a little different; laundry room, half-bathroom, three living areas, and a huge kitchen. A spiral, wooden staircase took you upstairs to four bedrooms and two full bathrooms.

The four bedrooms were a great size and each had a walk-in closet. I've always wanted to experience the pleasure of having a walk-in closet and it would be a dream-come-true if we were to live in this house. There were also 4-5 outlets in each room which is always good.

There was only one problem with both full baths... the showers were awfully dingy. I feel like I would have to wear flip-flops every time I took a shower.

The kitchen had a lot of counter space, cupboards, and room that would come in handy during meals. There was also space for a kitchen table to sit in the kitchen if we didn't want to have a dining room.

Here I am fantasizing about renting this house and we have NO idea if we'll even get it.

The other house we looked at was complete sketch. We arrived at the house before the landlord and after I called him, three other groups showed up to view the house. He finally came, argued with the lady currently living in the house and we went inside. The house looked so cute from the outside...

The kitchen was the first room you walked into from the back door. It felt like we were standing in a cubby hole and I would have cried every time I made dinner in that kitchen.

Next we walked into a living room where, I kid you not, sat a fridge against the wall and a microwave and microwave oven on some shelving unit thing. The landlord said he wanted to turn the living room into two bedrooms. By this time, two other groups have showed up to look at the house. So that's 15 people looking at the same house in one session?

home sweet home

There was already one bedroom on the main floor and I'll call it the sex room. I don't know why, but one wall was covered in mirrors. The other three were wood panels.

We then ventured downstairs where there was a bar at the far corner plus another large living room. Surprise, surprise, he wanted to turn the open space into another couple bedrooms and get rid of the bar. A kitchen, in much better condition than the one upstairs, and a bathroom were also located on this floor.

Down another six stairs, were three bedrooms of good size.

After seeing the basement bedrooms, Katie told me that we were leaving. We gathered Jenna and snuck out the kitchen door. I wasn't complaining.

The funniest part about the second house was that we knew at least one person from each party. Oh the joys of looking for places to live.

Yours truly.
