I'm really not in the mood for my blog anymore

So I'll be M.I.A. until I feel like posting again. Whenever that will be.

Highlights of Toronto trip

- having a conversation with a random woman at the St. Catharine's bus stop about her seven Siamese cats. She later asked me to sit with her on the bus, but I turned her down.

- passing an accident on the way to Toronto: a tractor was turned on its side and another car had its front smashed in

- passing an elementary school, that was currently in recess, and a group of eight or so girls waved frantically at my bus

- having a transport truck driver wave at me as we passed it on the highway

- two dogs had their heads out of a car's window on the highway

- someone's license plate: "A WIZARD"

- visiting friends, going out for dinner, and seeing Robin Hood. The movie itself wasn't that great, but it was still a joyful time.

Finished packing

Goodbye Port Colborne.

I'll see you in a couple days.

xoxo

I need to get my butt in gear

I'm heading up to Toronto tomorrow morning, but I still haven't finished packing. I took a peak at the weather and it says it's supposed to be around 20 degrees for the next couple of days. I'm excited that it's supposed to be niceish weather on my days off, but I have no idea what clothes to pack! Do I bring jeans? Shorts? A dress?

Ugg.

My badass ringlet

Current craving

lookproducts.php.jpg

I would kill for a bag of these.

Work was actually kinda busy today

I rode my bike to work today instead of driving. Since it only takes me 2-3 minutes to drive to the Marina, I figured it was a waste of gas and realized I could kill two birds with one stone by riding my bike instead. Those stones being: getting some exercise while saving the environment.

My dad gave me the rustiest chain to lock up my bike. Honestly, this thing is so dirty that when I had finished locking up my bike my hands were brown. And rusty smelling.

And I somehow managed to get a random grease spot on my forearm. I've been making comments about it the entire day, but I still haven't washed it off my body.

"What do you want to be, mainstream?"

FINALLY

found this one video on Youtube that I've been looking for. I didn't think it was still uploaded on Youtube, because it was forced to be removed, but HEY it's still on there. It's probably one of my favourite videos of ALL time and I love the person who made sure that it's still on there.

Thank you

My mom just told me that we're having pizza and wings for supper.

I thought this would be appropriate

Don't know what to make for din-din

The other day one of the girls I work with told me that I have a "cherry and bubbly personality".

It made my day. Possibly even my summer. Maybe my entire life.

I'm exited for future plans

I WANT MY DAYS OFF TO BE HERE SO THAT I CAN HAVE SOMEWHAT OF A LIFE

Apparently today is Friday...

I don't even know what day it is anymore. Working 8 hour shifts five times a week has really messed with my inner schedule. At work I have to remember the dates when I'm filling out forms and entering data into the computer, but nowhere am I required to acknowledge the days of the week.

I'm getting into such a routine now...

- wake up, shower, breakfast, work, supper, couch, sleep -

and the same thing happens the next day... and the day after that... and the day after that...

All I can say is that I can't wait until Tuesday May 18th. I will have finished working 7 days in a row and will have Tuesday and Wednesday off. But then, like the idiot that I am, I scheduled myself to work another 7 days in a row before having a day off.

I received my first pay stub today. It's going to be a great summer.

Wild Turkeys

were going crazy on the drive home from the YMCA tonight!

While I was driving home from Welland, on Hwy 58, one flew right in front of me as it crossed the road. I let off the gas and gawked for a couple seconds. About five minutes down the road I saw a couple more turkeys hovering above the fields in such of some din-din.

Call me a loser, but I was extremely fascinated by this incident.

I'm walking down to Shopper's Drug Mart to buy the yellow and green nail polish

YMCA

I signed up for a membership with the YMCA this afternoon. I'm bored of running on my treadmill at home so I thought I would take advantage of the gyms that are in the area.

I used the gym after I signed up and I really like it. There's plenty of machines so you aren't stuck waiting around for someone to finish their workout and the gyms, where they hold classes, are huge! If I'm not tired after work tomorrow I'm going to the Zumba class which starts at 6pm. Ashlee and Leviana: you should see the size of this gym... it's probably 5 times bigger than the one at school! I'm pretty excited and since it fills up quickly, I'm going to make sure I show up extra early so I get a spot in the front.

Their camera wasn't working to take my picture for m
y membership card so they gave me a temporary sticker...

I'd say it's a pretty accurate representation of me. I do love dogs. Especially cute ones that have pink noses and a wicked smile.

"There's a rabbit, a duck, and I think there's a rabbit"

I can't believe how tired I was that night and I still didn't go home even though it was WAY past my bed time. We left the TV on the Discovery Channel, but didn't actually pay attention to Mythbusters or Survivorman because we were too interested in what each other had to say. Especially when I tried explaining the plot to Bucky O'Hare and I fumbled over my words because I was so tired. I swear I've never giggled so much in my life.

A result of 100km winds at the Marina

This is what the Marina looked like today. Massive waves were crashing over the break wall and it rained on and off all day. The dock boys had to come in for most of the day because it was unsafe for them to be working on the docks.

Note to self: I will be bringing my camera for every shift I work this summer.

THUNDERSTORM

I have been waiting since last summer for a thunderstorm. I just opened the curtains in my family room so that I can watch the lightning from my couch.

If the hockey game wasn't on right now I would be watching the storm outside my bedroom window.

"I have no fixed address"

We were registering a boater who came into the Marina on Wednesday and when we asked him what his address was he merely said, "I have no fixed address".

He said he lives in his Dodge Charger and when the summer comes along he lives on his boat.

Florida came to me this summer

Around this time last year my family and I went to Florida for a couple weeks, but this year the Sunshine State managed to make its way up to Port Colborne.

A boater came in to on Wednesday afternoon to fill up his boat with gas and while he was paying his bill, we asked him where he was from. He lives in Flordia, but he was visiting up near St. Catharines and Port Dalhousie.

As he was making his way from Welland to Port Colborne, driving through the Welland Canal, he saw the infamous Welland flasher. He said they were speeding along when all of a sudden this naked man ran out of the bushes, ran parallel to the boat, and then darted back into the wilderness.

Personally, forested areas would not be my first choice if I were looking for a place to hang out naked. I mean your skin would get scratched to hell and think of the creepy crawlies that would be all over your body.

I really hope he tells this story when he gets back home.

Work

I'm almost done my first week at my new job with the City of Port Colborne.

I got placed with the Marina and I will be working at the desk answering phone calls, registering boaters, directing boaters on how to get into the Marina and where they will be docked, and much more. I'm working with two other girls.

Everyone had WHMIS training on Monday morning... I think it's pretty self-explanatory. However, we were looking at the symbol for posion and our trainer said, "This is Johnny Depp's symbol". I laughed so hard.

Tuesday was first-aid training.

Wednesday was my first full work day at the Marina. I will be working 8:30-4:30 until May 21st when we officially open. Yesterday seemed to drag on forever because there wasn't much to do as there aren't a lot of boaters yet. The one girl was explaining how the system works and it seems like there's a lot to learn, but I know once I start practicing with customers then it won't be so bad.

I just felt so useless because a. there wasn't much to do and b. it was the first day and I was just learning what I was going to do for the summer.

I was so tired last night when I got home from work. I had a 30 minute nap right when I got home and even after that I still had trouble keeping my eyes open. It wasn't until 730ish when I closed my eyes for a second and ended up passing out on the couch for half an hour. That gave me enouch energy to stay up till 11. By 11:15 I was passed out and didn't get out of bed until 9 this morning.

I'm really excited... new job, new people to work with, new experiences, and good money!

I have more training tomorrow and then a shift on Saturday and then I have Sunday and Monday off.

Wooooooo!

TERM AVERAGE: 82.6%

Last semester I got a 79.2% average, so I set a goal for myself that I would get an average over 80% this semester.

And who did it.

I did.

And I'm stoked.

I've been in a good mood all day and seeing my final marks just set me over the top.
